Is Townhall for conservative values?
Is it made up of reasonable, good people?
Do the readers mostly oppose liberal Democrat ideas and pull together for Republican candidates?

This was my impression until I came here to the comments section. This is a cesspool of pride in self, throwing unfounded accusations, no grace and no self-control or politeness!! There is no reasonableness or willingness to get the facts. Whatever your religion, many of you here are disgracing it by your hateful speech.

If conservatives would like to change America, they must get over this religious or sectarian pride and come together on what we value: freedom to work for the goals of liberty, fairness in less taxation, smaller government, and preservation of life. And it wouldn't hurt to take a course or two in etiquette.

You wrote a very fair and needed column, Kevin, and I hope the fact that American politics has descended into the pit will NOT keep you from standing for fairness and truth. Thanks for exposing the hateful and irresponsible language of the talk show host. I refuse to listen to people that talk in this manner. They obviously have no reasoning powers, and therefore they must resort to slander and rant. [That was pretty judgmental! ]

Just because some people hear the name Huckabee and immediately fly into a blind rage, and judge him in totally unfair and ungrounded ways, doesn't mean you should stop defending him. In fact, this is more of a need than ever. They spew in just the way they wouldn't want their children to talk. And they judge in just the way they wouldn't want to be judged. Shame on America's people if they are like this.

I hope it is merely a syndrome that comment sections in general have created and not a real indicator of the people of America. I hope they are wise enough to read and ponder and listen and come to their own conclusions. Those who are intransigent will never come to agreement on important matters. We need to guard against this unwillingness to listen to the other side to see if [the]viewpoints [expressed] are on target or biased. I am willing to listen, but only when the speaker or writer is reasonable and not hateful, as the talk show host you mentioned was.

If we don't mend our ways of speaking, and respect people, I fear Americans will be unwilling to listen to conservatives, just when they need to the most.

I truly believe God will use your gifted writing skills along with your spiritual wisdom and insights to elevate the conservative voice in cyberspace. I am still praying for the funding for the trip and will add the needed lap top computer. It would be so wonderful to have you blogging about the trip to Israel for HA and HuckPAC. God, please hear our prayers!
