MH: Everyone talks about crisis, I want to talk about solution.

He intros three people, Alexis ______, Dave RAmsey, and Geraldine Ferraro!

(I can't believe I could have seen Geraldine Ferraro. Sigh.)

OK, I know nothing about the economy, so my notes on this will be not so hot.

Alexis: Stuff about teaser loans, predatory loans. The CRA - community re-investment act. Go to Google and see what Fanny Mae was supposed to do...(Sorry, I'm lost.) Plenty of things in this economy are fine. It started with Wall Street. Exports are on fire, the dollar is weak, fear is pervasive, on and on and on...

Then MH asks Geraldine - saying you're the only person in this room who has been in those closed doors -

GF references back to MH's quote that if a guy loses money in Vegas no one helps him - but she says the only one he hurt was himself. We have to reassure global markets that we're OK - t's the country, it's much bigger, so therefore it is a crisis and it has to be addressed. (That made sense to me as she spoke.)

Then to Dave Ramsey - what advice would you give Congress? DR: There are stress points. We heard if we didn't pass this $700 billion by Friday, the world would come to an end, and we heard (e-mails, etc.) from people 'so be it.' People don't want to pay for other people's mistakes, and though we have to do something about it, the fever pitch of this didn't work.

Mike says they have people in the audience with financial questions (we got that in an e-mail, that if we had a financial question, to e-mail it before we got there. Well, we don't even own our own home, so we didn't have a question :-). ) On to commercial.

By the way, Geraldine had on a red sweater set, and I think wool pants, the Alexis woman had on a drapey purple dress, and I was typing and not looking at Dave Ramsey...(for those without cable, who care about these things...)

Back to audience questions - I think these were all questions from the e-mail that prospective audience members got.

A woman from New Jersey asks about buying a home, and being stuck with two homes and can't sell either.

DR says I wish I could turn the clock back - you need a strong high octane realtor. You're a motivated seller, the heck with the cheese, let me out of the trap.

A guy: Is it wise to borrow from a 401K? DR answers that question -

OK, sorry, he talks too fast and I can't condense it. I glaze over with investment stuff. I know it's important, but we are a ministry family with no money and I don't get all this stuff.

The audience is full of Huckabee staffers and family. I have seen Janet, Sarah, and Lauren Huckabee; David Polynasky; Rick Caldwell; Drake Jarman; and a bunch of other campaign folks that I can't remember there names right now. My wife keeps joking that pretty soon we will probably see me on there. :)

MH - I want to ask each of you - if you had the power right now, what would you do? Mh says his own view is to cut the capital gains taxes, he doesn't want to see the govt obligate my grandchildren that I don't even have yet.

Geraldine says she has 8 grandchildren, and that's final :-) I worry about this and I have since the Congress. One of my first votes was teh Chrysler bailout, I worried about it, but it was paid back. Clinton did the same thing, and they got paid back. Let's realize this could be paid back. People are being hurt if smoething is not done immediately. In the future, (she goes on to explain some stuff, but Mike hurries her a bit. That's fine - but she wasn't asked anything before this, and she seems to always on Fox get cut off).

DR - talks fast, lots of colorful analogies - I don't know why this man is famous, there is no way I could listen to him. (I'm sure he's smart and a nice guy - I just mean his talking gives me a headache :-)

Alexis Glick - I couldn't agree more. WE need to look at things like an uptick rule.

I'm glazing over again.

Now she's slamming Bernanke, she says he's a student of the Great Depression. We'll see a contraction in the GDP. This man is onto something.

It's overkill, DR says.

MH says we''re not going to solve this - but we tried, by golly.

Commercial - and next will be the special house band (I think this will be the band made up of people who work at Fox.)

Jim Pinkerton (and I guess his wife, she had curly blonde hair) is there, too. Ed Rollins also - and though I haven't seen him on camera, Chip Salzman is there also.

Just not me  Oh well :) There's always the bacon....

I'm really sorry, though, that Leslie didn't get to ask her question. She was going to ask about the spiritual climate in America. There's only 10 minutes left, I don't know if he'll do questions again.

Good show and innovative idea at the end. One suggestion: see who in the Fox studios is a lead vocalist. Is there a audio tech who was getting ready to try out for American Idol?

MH - Music is an important part of American culture and life. This is a live house band - talent from people in the building. The Little Rockers - on keyboard is Lauren Green (I like her, she's the Religion Correspondent, she's a very good pianist), a lighting director, a guy from the Mike and Juliet show, and a writer from the M & J show, and an audio technician on drums.

He says you can get tickets if you come to New York - 1-877-HUCKTIX -
it's Only in America where you can have the kind of freeedom that we enjoy.

They then play Only in America, the lighting director, I think, is singing.

Mike looks happy.

"One just might be President...only in America...dreaming in red, white, and blue, only in America, where we dream as big as we want to..."

Totally agree with you on that one...either do an instrumental version or get someone with a strong singing voice, 'cause that guy did NOT have what it takes to be singing lead (or even background) on a national (or local) show...that was hard to listen to, had to fast forward my tivo :(

I have not been on hucksarmy much lately and did not know when the Huckabee Show would begin. I sat down to watch the latest on the bail-out and was stunned to watch the Huckabee Show! What a treat! I loved it! I thought the discussion with the three economic experts with questions from the audience was great and the band performance at the end was icing on the cake! I think he should invite great gospel singers or country/western singers to close each segment. I enjoyed his courtesy to each guest and the fact that he did not interrupt the guests. Too much partisan rivalry and rudeness on the air today. Huckabee's first show was tremendous!!!

It is not on here in CA. They've been having commercials for it all day long, and now they have a 2 hour LIVE Hannity and Colmes "Presidential Debate Analysis!"
I am so frustrated!!!
