Huckabee has a Washington Post op-ed on the Maurice Clemmons commutation. See the link. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... inionsbox1

GOP12.com also notes the op ed -- and makes an interesting observation:

Quote:
Mike Huckabee continues defending himself over the Maurice Clemmons commutation-- this time in a Washington Post op-ed.

The argument is similar to the one he made in last week's Human Events, and similar to the one he's made since the beginning.

Maurice Clemmons was 16 years old when he committed the crimes of burglary and robbery.

He was sentenced to a total of 108 years in prison, dramatically outside the norm for sentencing for the crimes he committed and the age at which he committed them.

For a lot of Huck-haters in the party, the Clemmons affair has served as a convenient excuse for pushing him out of the race.

But if you take this particular commutation in isolation from the rest of his record, it says very little about Huck the Man and quite a bit about Huck's enemies.

The other day, Rasmussen linked to the Debra Saunders article, "Huckabee Gave Out Pardons Like Candy."

I just sent Rasmussen the WAPO Op-Ed with the following suggestion:

Quote:
As a premium member, I like to see all sides of an issue. Since you carried a link to the Debra Saunders article ”Huckabee Gave Out Pardons Like Candy” – a decidedly one-sided view – I thought it would be even-handed for you to link to Huckabee’s Washington Post Op-Ed for his side of the story. I look forward to the link – and I am sure other premium members would similarly appreciate the overall viewpoints.

We shall see just how even-handed Rasmussen wishes to be.

It's a sad day for Conservativeville when the Washington Post posts an article that is more factually based and fair than most of the "conservative" media.

I agree. Just posted a comment. Folks, let's flood the article with positive comments the same way we flooded our own MO thread.
