I have created this website to try and get people to commit to making phone calls for Mike. I think if I and others post about this on MikeHuckabee.com, we can get 250 volunteers.

just to see what they could do. He said they could give me a list of Registered Republican Voters by county, city, whatever. I'm waiting til I hear back from a fellow Huckabee supporter, but just thought I'd look at this in the meantime.

I asked him how much it would be for the county that Grand Rapids, MI is in. Here were his prices:

$950 - 10,000 people
$1450 - 20,000 people
$2500 - 50,000 people

Those prices look pretty steep. Sounds like a good idea, but maybe the campaign has access to these numbers already. You might want to check with them. No sense in buying lists that the campaign already has on file.

You should be able to call the Grand Rapids GOP offices and order lists through them much cheaper! Also, your link on the mike huckabee site to the phone site does not work. You will probably want to try to post it again.

I was told about this website by Christian Hines a couple of months ago. Their prices are better, and they seem to be really "user-friendly", giving all sorts of options for customizing the lists. They can be narrowed into more specific target groups. My family was wanting to get involved with the national calling - we've done it in other elections - but the campaign focus for us has really come home; with Thompson not doing so hot, things are really looking good for a Huckabee win here in Fred's home state.

Laura, thanks! I just realized the link was wrong a few minutes ago and reposted on the official blog about it. Someone just signed up (I was wondering why there werent any sign ups yet!). So far we have 3 sign ups. If we get several tonight and tomorrow AM, I will set this thing up!

Yeah, I'm not paying for a list. I am in touch with a couple people that may can help us out. I will have more updates tomorrow.

So far there are 23 volunteers. I hope tomorrow can bring us up to at least 100.

One thought - if we got the call lists through the campaign, we could avoid double calls.

The national campaign should be providing the phone lists and communication examples. The worst thing for the campaign is randomly calling people and perhaps they get more than 1 call within an hour, and the communication isn't standardized and approved by the campaign. They should also give examples of how to handle rejections and answers to common questions people have. Please don't tell me we're doing this without official guidance and shooting-off in a dozen different directions.. eeeeek!

Is your list something openly available? If it is a list that you don't want in the hands of other campaigns, make sure you validate who is calling before giving them the numbers.

We are up to 182 volunteers! If you wish to participate you need to sign up ASAP. We will be calling starting tomorrow morning.

I have been on the phone today with Huckabee grassroots organizers who have done this in previous states, and we are making http://phonecallsformike.blogspot.com the central location to sign up for volunteering to make these phone calls (of course I'm sure you can go to your local Mike Huckabee For President office and make calls there).
